Some of the causes IHRC supports include:

AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K Run

IHRC is a proud sponsor of the AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K Run. This annual event raises funds for AIDS service organizations across Atlanta that provide essential programs and services for people who are living with, affected by, and at-risk for HIV/AIDS. The services and programs they provide include treatment, medication, prevention education, meals, housing, mental health services, child care, substance abuse counseling, and pastoral care. IHRC employees, family and friends participate in this event as part of the IHRC Team. In addition to providing free registration to team members, IHRC provides financial support to the AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K Run through its participation as a sponsor.

The Drake House

IHRC is honored to be a community sponsor of The Drake House. This agency provides a short-term crisis and an affordable housing program for homeless single mothers and their children in North Metro Atlanta. Their educational, empowerment, and mentoring programs assist families in becoming financially self-sufficient and contributing members of the community. They are the only agency in the area offering an emergency residential program, serving approximately 50 families with 100 children per year. IHRC made a generous financial donation to The Drake House. This included matching employee donations and supporting production of The Drake House promotional video, which was created by ASV productions. IHRC also collected in-kind donations for The Drake Closet.

GlobalGiving – Hurricane Irma and Maria Relief

GlobalGiving connects nonprofits, donors, and companies in nearly every country around the world. They help local nonprofits access the funding, tools, training, and support they need to become more effective. IHRC made a generous financial donation through GlobalGiving to the Puerto Rico and Caribbean Hurricane Relief Fund and the World Vision Hurricane Irma and Maria Relief Fund. These funds provide relief to survivors in the form of emergency supplies like food, water, medicine, hygiene items, temporary shelter and longer-term recovery assistance to help residents recover and rebuild.

Toys for Tots

This organization’s primary goal is to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas. Toys for Tots originally started in 1947 and the first toy was a handmade doll. IHRC employees generously contributed funds, and IHRC made a corporate financial donation to support this cause.

Atlanta Hope Lodge (American Cancer Society)

The Hope Lodge provides free lodging for cancer patients and their caregivers, creating an environment that eases both the stress of the cancer journey and the financial challenges of receiving cancer treatment. The Hope Lodge offers many programs and evening activities that allow their guests to unwind, laugh and enjoy newfound friendships. Their Meal of Hope Program provides an opportunity for Hope Lodge guests to enjoy a meal, relax and meet others in the lodge, as well as receive emotional support from others going through the cancer experience. IHRC employees participated in the Meal of Hope Program by volunteering to cook and serve dinner to 70 Hope Lodge guests. IHRC coordinated the event and covered the cost of supplies. IHRC also made a generous financial donation to the Hope Lodge.

Atlanta Community Food Bank

The Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB) is a member of Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Every year, ACFB works with more than 600 nonprofit partners—including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers—to distribute over 60 million meals to more than 755,000 people in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and North Georgia. The mission of ACFB is to fight hunger by engaging, educating and empowering the community. IHRC employees, along with their family and friends, volunteered at ACFB’s Product Rescue Center. The IHRC team packed more than 10,000 pounds of food, which helped provide over 7,000 meals. IHRC also made a financial donation to the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

Blessings in a Backpack

Blessings in a Backpack mobilizes communities, individuals, and resources to provide food on the weekends for elementary school children across America who might otherwise go hungry. One in five American children face food insecurity. Poor nutrition can result in a weaker immune system, increased hospitalization, lower IQ, shorter attention spans, and lower academic achievement. Blessings in a Backpack currently feeds over 87,300 children in nearly 1,092 schools in 45 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. IHRC hosted a Blessings in a Backpack volunteer packing event and covered the cost of supplies and transportation. IHRC employees filled 500 backpacks with food for elementary school kids so they won’t go hungry over the weekend.

Peachtree Road United Methodist Church

Each December, this organization opens their Christmas Kindness Shop to the homeless and working poor of Atlanta. With dignity and joy, families are able to select gifts, small appliances and warm coats. Guides and helpers take each family through the shop, wrapping and loading stations. This organization gives away over 10,000 gifts to those in need. IHRC employees contributed funds and volunteered their time, while IHRC made a corporate financial donation in support of this program.
